Polly Bergen Dies [+TRIBUTE VIDEOS] Legendary Actress, Singer and Television Host Passed Away Today

Polly Bergen Dies - She was born in 1930, and she died today, Sept.10th at the age of 84 after carrying a versatile and fruitful career.

Polly Bergen died from natural causes, surrounded by loved ones at her home in Southbury, Connecticut according to her publicist Judy Katz and noted by ABC News.

She was a Singer first and later on became an Actress, as well. Her first role was in Champion (1949), in which she appeared as a Jukebox Singer. Her second role was Across The Rio Grande (1949) in which she was a Singer, as well. As a matter of fact it wasn't until her fifth role that she stopped playing Singers.

Still, Polly Bergen always had a beautiful sultry voice, so in roles she used to sing either way. It wasn't wise to let such a talent go to waste.

After appearing in several roles, she had her own Polly Bergen Show (1958), which combined sketches and funny situations.

Some of her most famous roles were in Playhouse 90 (1956), for which she won an Emmy, Cape Fear (1962), The Caretakers (1963), The Winds of War (1983), War and Remembrance (1988) and more recently, she played Felicity Huffman's mother in Desperate Housewives (2007-2011).

Also, she was nominated for a Tony Award in 2001. And if this weren't enough accomplishments, she wrote three books.

She created the Polly Bergen Company cosmetics line, three lines of jewelry and shoes.

About her personal life, Polly Bergen was married three times: to Jerome Courtland, to Freddie Fields, with who she adopted two children, Pamela Kerry Fields and Peter William Fields. And last, she was married to Jeffrey Endervelt.

Polly Bergen died, but she had a wonderful life full of activities and variation in every sort of way. She tried doing a little bit of everything and learned from each.

She has said, "I'm one of those people who always needs a mountain to climb. When I get up a mountain as far as I think I'm going to get, I try to find another mountain."

I would say that Polly Bergen has climbed more than enough mountains in her life and in her death, we will remember many more.

And to remember Polly Bergen, some videos with songs, one with her Polly Bergen Show and a last recent one she did as a "sketch" sort of way with Glee's Chris Colfer for the last movie she was on, Struck By Lightning, in which she was truly hilarious.
