Will Ferrell, the "Anchorman" actor, has revealed exciting news concerning "Zoolander 2," a sequel to the Ben Stiller flick; his character will be seen again on screens nationwide. Ferrell has just confirmed that the sequel to Ben Stiller's cult comedy is coming soon.
While speaking to the Hollywood Reporter at the Deauville Film Festival, Ferrell said that they are in the process of re-reading the sequel to the script while he himself confirmed his part in "Zoolander 2".
In 2001, alongside Hansel (Owen Wilson) and Derek Zoolander (Ben Stiller), Ferrell played the role of Mugatu. Stiller and Wilson were competing for the best male model in the movie.
In the upcoming movie, the two male models will not be competing against each other. The Zoolander movie will begin at a moment when the world has left Hansel and Derek because they belong to the ancient history. The two males will be at risk of losing their prestige and relevance in the modeling business to young male models.
While Ben Stiller and Ferrell have confirmed taking part in the movie, Wilson's return is just a rumor.
Though the film has not been released, fans of the original movie hope that " Zoolander" will come back. Last year, Stiller reported that the movie was on hold. According to Shortlist Magazine, he stated that though they liked some scripts, they could not force the sequel to fans.
In addition, Stiller added that Mike Myers did well in the Austin Powers Movies. He stated that those movies were funny and 'of their time'. Zoolander, he said, could also be brought up to present.
Stiller's first movie was "Star-studded Affair". It featured roles for David Duchovny, Jon Voigh, Christian Slater, Donald Trump, Heidi Klum, Lenny Kravitz, David Bowie, Natalie Portman and Garry Shandling.
