The incorrigible main event of 'Ash vs Evil Dead' has gone and done and owned the universe where 'Ash vs Evil Dead' Meets 'The Walking Dead'. Groovy Bruce Campbell or @GroovyBruce on Twitter 'accidentally leaked' the script of a crossover between these two TV shows. And why not? Crossovers happen all the time, so why not between Ashley Williams and Rick Grimes, too.
Campbell's Twitter image shows a copy of an authentic looking coffee-stained, hole-punched script that opens with 'The Walking Dead''s first season episode where Rick Grimes stumbles back into consciousness from his lengthy coma:
"Still dressed in his hospital gown and disoriented from his coma, Rick GRIMES exits the hospital and stares in disbelief. The parking lot and entire visible landscape are littered with decaying, decapitated corpses."
Of course, this is when it gets really good:
"Rick stumbles towards the street and sees a 1973 Oldsmobile Delta Royale parked in the center of a spiral of bloody bodies. Sitting on the hood of the car is a gore-spattered ASH.
RICK (panicked): What the hell is going on!?
ASH: Zombie apocalypse. You might as well go back to sleep, I took care of it.
The End"
Two simple lines of pure genius that completely embody Rick Grime's perpetual confusion and uncertainty and El Jefe's cocky and confident method of facing all undead single-handed (literally) and head-on. There are those who wonder what Andrew Lincoln has to say about this. Still the imagery is so good that fans actually hope to see more.
Luckily STARZ original 'Ash vs Evil Dead' - by creators Sam Raimi, brother Ivan Raimi and writer-producer Tom Spezialy, which was spun off 'The Evil Dead' franchise - is back in the airwaves with Bruce Campbell as Ash 30 years after the 'Evil Dead: Army of Darkness'. He's as cool, confident and (unwillingly) heroic as ever. 'Xena: Warrior Princess' Lucy Lawless joins the show as Ruby.
