'Doctor Strange': Production Details Revealed, Official Cast Out! [Release Date, Plot, Rumors & Spoilers]

"Doctor Strange" is confirmed to be in the filming process, according to Marvel Studios. In addition, the studios has released the official cast list for the film.

According to Screen Rant, early in the month "Doctor Strange" shot on location in Kathmandu, Nepal, with unofficial photos showing a bearded Benedict Cumberbatch (Stephen Strange), as well as Chiwetel Ejiofor (Baron Mordo). Next location shoot took place in ondon's Pinewood Studios, where "Captain America: The First Avenger," "Thor: The Dark World," "Guardians of the Galaxy" and "Avengers: Age of Ultron" were shot.

Principal photography for "Doctor Strange" has begun, as announced by Disney. News of production comes alongside the reveal of the film's official cast list, as well as details on other locations the studios will be shooting "Doctor Strange," which include Hong Kong and New York.

New York is known to fans as Doctor Stephen Strange's Sanctum Santorum residence. It's also reportedly the location at place at 177A Bleecker Street where the original Defenders' headquarters.

As noted by Screen Rant, previous "Doctor Strange" rumors suggest that the upcoming Netflix series, "Iron Fist," could crossover with Doctor Strange, making the New York set a possible location in future Marvel TV heroes.

Meanwhile, the recently-announced "Doctor Strange" cast list joining Cumberbatch and Ejiofor include Rachel McAdams (rumored to play the Night Nurse), Michael Stuhlbarg (rumored to play Dr. Nicodemus West), Mads Mikkelsen (potentially as Dormammu the villain) and Tilda Swinton (as the Ancient One, mentor of Strange).

The official "Doctor Strange" has also been released as follows:

"Doctor Strange follows the story of neurosurgeon Doctor Stephen Strange who, after a horrific car accident, discovers the hidden world of magic and alternate dimensions."

Directed by Scott Derrickson and produced by Kevin Feige, "Doctor Strange" is slated for release on November 4, 2016. According to IGN, the film is the second among Marvel Studios' "Phase Three" films, which aims to introduce movie audiences to characters never before seen in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
