Justin Bieber vs One Direction: 'Sorry' Singer Tops Billboard 200 Chart

Justin Bieber is bringing back the fever as the singer tops the Billboard 200 chart with his new album entitled 'Purpose' which was released on November 13. The 'Sorry' singer has beaten One Direction's new album 'Made In The A.M.' which was also released on the same date.

Bieber was able to shift 649,000 units of his record compared to the 459,000 ​units of the super famous boy band 1D giving him the biggest sales week. The Purpose album was able to sold 522,000​ in pure album sales excluding the streaming and downloads of the latest tracks.

Justin Bieber's latest album is his sixth album which became number one. The 'What Do You Mean' singer was able to surpass the sales of his previous album in 2012 'Believe' which sold 374,000 copies during the first week. The sales of Purpose is expected to rise as the holiday approaches.

With the outstanding comeback performance of the 'Where Are You Now' singer at the American Music Awards 2015, more fans will be enticed to patronize the new album of the 21-year-old star. Singing the latest tracks from his new album, Justin Bieber impressed the audience with his sing and dance presentation.

Though Justin Bieber topped the Billboard charts leaving One Direction on the second spot, the pop boy band from London is still the number one in the UK album chart. 1D's fifth studio album 'Made In The A.M.' is also the fastest-selling album of the year in the region beating the Canadian singer.

The competition between Justin Bieber and One Direction began in the year 2009 when the albums of the two contested for the top spot.

Meanwhile, One Direction attended the AMAs 2015 where they won the 'Favorite Duo Or Group' award and was also hailed as the Artist of the Year.
