Tony Soprano’s Escalade Was Sold At an Auction for Almost $120,000

On Friday, the 2003 Cadillac Escalade that James Gandolfini (American actor and producer - known for his character as Tony Soprano) drove in the last three seasons of The Sopranos was sold at an auction for almost $120,000.

Auction House RR Auction made it known that the Escalade, which the character of James Gandolfini - Tony Soprano, used in the American drama series The Sopranos as his personal car, sold at auction for $119,776.83. The  Escalade was sold with Tony Soprano's driver's license as well as an autographed photo of the cast of the mob drama. The Escalade was also signed in three places by the late actor James Gandolfini.

The vehicle is perhaps famous for its role in an episode in season 5, when the Soprano family used it to chase down their opposing mobster Phil Leotardo (played by actor Frank Vincent) and run him off the road.

HBO's American crime drama television series ran for six seasons from 1999 to 2007 and starred James Gandolfini as a New Jersey mob boss. James Gandolfini was born in September 18, 1961 and died in 2013 at the age of 51.

The Sopranos has been considered as the greatest television series of all time. The American crime drama television series was created by David Chase, the show revolved around fictional Italian-American mobster Tony Soprano (portrayed by James Gandolfini) and his family in New Jersey. The plot centered on the difficulties Tony Soprano faced, as he was trying to balance the conflicting requirements of his family life with wife Carmela (played by Edie Falco) and kids, and his criminal organization - including Mafia colleagues, rivals and his protégé Christopher Moltisanti played by the American actor and director - Michael Imperioli.

These were often discussed during Tony Soprano's therapy sessions with his psychiatrist - the American actress Lorraine Bracco as Jennifer Melfi.

The Sopranos won a multitude of awards during its 6-year run on HBO - including five Golden Globe Awards, 21 Primetime Emmy Awards and  Peabody Awards for its first two seasons.
