Gal Gadot is adding to her fans' building anticipation for the much-awaited release of Warner Bros.' superhero movie Wonder Woman.
The Wonder Woman movie doesn’t come out until 2017, but filming has officially begun, and star Gal Gadot shared a sneak peek on Twitter Saturday.
"Almost 75 years in the making… #WonderWoman is underway," Gadot captioned the photo, which shows her cloaked and standing in front of London's Big Ben.
Her famous suit is covered up in the first photo, and we have a glimpse at a possible new costume.
The picture speaks for itself, but Warner Bros. also released what amounted to a “production has started” press release, offered at the end of this post, which also sheds some light on the supporting cast.
Also starring in Wonder Woman is Star Trek’s Captain Kirk, better known as Chris Pine! He is playing Gal’s love interest in the new movie, which just adds to his portfolio of blockbuster movies.
The film also stars Robin Wright (“The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo,” Netflix’s “House of Cards”), Danny Huston (“Clash of the Titans,” “X-Men Origins: Wolverine”), David Thewlis (the “Harry Potter” films, “The Theory of Everything”), Ewen Bremner (“Exodus: Gods and Kings,” “Snowpiercer”), Saïd Taghmaoui (“American Hustle”), Elena Anaya (“The Skin I Live In”) and Lucy Davis (“Shaun of the Dead”).
In the recent trailer for the eagerly-anticipated Batman movie starring Ben Affleck as the Caped Crusader and Henry Cavill as Superman, we got our first look at the famous heroine. After starring in Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice and Wonder Woman, she’ll join the band of superheroes for the two-part Justice League movies.
Filming will take place in the U.K., France and Italy. The official release date is June 23, 2017.
Wonder Woman is definitely Gal’s breakthrough role, but she’s been featured in movies like Fast & Furious, Date Night and Knight and Day. Her career is about to take off in a way she probably never thought possible.
