New York Steakhouse Has a $45,000 Thanksgiving Dinner Menu, Happy Turkey Day!

Are you tired of the usual boring home turkey with brown gravy and a dull pine cone center piece? Well, do you live in New York? Do you have more than a few thousand dollars to spare? about $45,000 maybe? Maybe this place is just for you.

A New York Steakhouse is charging $45,000 for Thanksgiving dinner. You're probably thinking, this must be a huge butter ball turkey. Well, you can say that. Sort of. If the turkey in question is a 2-carat diamond engagement ring.

The Old Homestead Steakhouse in New York is showcasing the dinner course as a unique way for lovers to ask their hopefully-agreeable-partner to marry them. What's the rationale behind all of this? Out of all the extravagant engagement proposals, esepecially those being done in The Yankee Stadium and at the top of the Empire State Building - which aren't just tourist attractions for the city, - they want to top the engagement destination list in New York.

Actually a smart way to do business with the jewelry and diamond industry. Food and diamonds? What else can a girl ask for? The dinner is a seven course meal which also includes a romantic limousine service, tickets to the Macy's Thanksgiving Parade and a $7,500 Black Friday shopping promo.

What's that saying again, the engagement ring should be equal to the cost of your two month's income? Well, think of it this way. There's food in it.

As Marc Sherry puts it, "Anyone can get engaged on Valentine's day but not many can do it with turkey and stuffing."

That's right. It's not just a fancy dinner. It's a fancy dinner with an engagement ring. But to be fair, you get more than just dinner. You also get a very expensive choice of caviar and bourbon. Sounds like a fair deal? Old Homestead Steakhouse thinks so, according to ABC.
