Only hours away from the premiere of the second Netflix Marvel Cinematic Universe series, the Kryten Ritter-led "A.K.A. Jessica Jones," the rest of the MCU shows carry on into production, with the "Daredevil" season 2 getting a new teaser - one that might even include a key character from the Defenders.
After the mad success of the first season of the show starring Charlie Cox as Matt Murdock/Daredevil (as well as Vincent D'Onofrio in the key role of villain Kingpin), the "Daredevil" season 2 is one of the most expected productions of Marvel, and judging from the latest teaser, it might even feature another Defender nobody had counted on: Mike Colter's Luke Cage.
According to Slash Film, Marvel has stood mostly silent about the "Daredevil" season 2 for the better part of this year, as other than a few images and a teaser on the New York Comic-Con, there have been no revelations about the spring release, other than the fact that it'll feature The Punisher (Jon Bernthal) and Elektra (Elodie Young), but finally, new material is being released.
As Den of Geek reports, the new "Daredevil" season 2 clip teases the appearance of Luke Cage, months after the character makes its MCU debut on Netflix this November 20, joining "Jessica Jones."
It's tough to see the Luke Cage reference on the "Daredevil" season 2 teaser unless you're a fan of the comic book (or you're one of the lucky few who got to see the first episode of "Jessica Jones" at Comic-Con a few weeks back) but, according to Movie Pilot, the reference is this: the character's bar, Luke's, is the big star of the clip, apparently taking over from Josie's, the one from last season - they barely even changed the signs at all!
Check out the new "Daredevil" season 2 teaser and prep for "Jessica Jones" at the end of the week!
