The upcoming sequel to 'Snow White and the Huntsman' may not feature Kristen Stewart as the pale young princess, but that doesn't mean that 'The Huntsman: Winter's War' will have a shortage on strong female characters!
As a follow-up to the recent release of four character posters depicting Chris Hemsworth as the Huntsman, Charlize Theron as Queen Ravenna, Emily Blunt as the Ice Queen and Jessica Chastain as the Warrior, Universal has unleashed a quick but exciting teaser to the film's actual trailer.
The trailer's sneak peek is only 15 seconds long, but it packs plenty of footage from 'The Huntsman: Winter's War,' including a brief sexy scene with Chris Hemsworth and Jessica Chastain.
The teaser suggests that Eric (Hemsworth) and Sara (Chastain) are actually lovers, and the full synopsis of the film confirms that the two are in fact protégés of the Ice Queen who were banished for being in love. It is their exile that brings the heroes together to fight against their former mistress, who also happens to be the sister of Queen Ravenna.
An excerpt of the movie synopsis reads as follows:
"When Freya [Blunt] learns of her sister's demise, she summons her remaining soldiers to bring the Magic Mirror home to the only sorceress left who can harness its power. But once she discovers Ravenna can be resurrected from its golden depths, the wicked sisters threaten this enchanted land with twice the darkest force it's ever seen. Now, their amassing army shall prove undefeatable...unless the banished huntsmen who broke their queen's cardinal rule can fight their way back to one another."
'The Huntsman: Winter's War' is directed by Cedric Nicolas-Troyan and also stars Colin Morgan, Sam Claflin, Nick Frost, Sheridan Smith and Alexandra Roach. The first official trailer will be released on November 18, while the film is scheduled to premiere on April 22, 2016.
