Today's topic is the first kiss.
Amateur filmmaker Tatia Pilieva took the internet by storm with "First Kiss," a short black and white video asking 20 strangers to pair off and share a kiss for the first time in front of her camera. In just over 24 hours, the video has already garnered over 25 million views on YouTube.
What starts out as giggly and awkward movements becomes something beautiful. At first, the men and women are a bit uneasy and nervous in the video; one jokingly asking for the lights to be turned off and another asks Pilieva when to begin.
After exchanging a few words, they are ready to lock lips and once it is over, the cast look happy and relaxed; some hug and others pose at the end.
But the people in the video aren't average people pulled off of the street; in reality, they're indie rockers, models and actors, including OK Go's Damian Kulash and actresses Marianna Palka and Jill Larson.
The video is actually an advertisement for Wren Studio clothing. Slate noted that the people included are models Natalia Bonifacci, Ingrid Schram, and Langley Fox; The Like's Z Berg; singers Nicole Simone and Sokol; and actors Luke Cook, Karim Saleh, Matthew Carey, Corby Griesenbeck and Elisabetta Tedla; Writer Robby O'Connor.
During the video, O'Connor tells Palka that since she's an actress, she should be used to kissing strangers. The video sells the image that beauty can "spring from an unexpected connection between two random people."
