Taylor Swift Files Restraining Order Against Man Claiming to be Her 'Husband'

If Taylor Swift is not married, than why is a man claiming to be her husband and threatening to kill any man she becomes romantically involved with?

TMZ reported that Timothy Sweet has been bombarding the 24-year-old singer with e-mails, letters and social media posts since January 2011, forcing her to file a restraining order against him.

A Los Angeles Superior Court approved a temporary restraining order against Sweet, following a torrent of messages that turned into threats against her, her family and Secretary of State John Kerry. The man reportedly believes that he and Swift are married, and that Kerry may threaten their relationship.

According to TMZ, these are some of the disturbing messages:

"If anyone in Taylor Swift's family gets killed, it is not my fault."

"My wife, Taylor Swift (Sweet) and I live in Beverly Hills. I am in love with her... I will carry a gun to protect her the rest of my life."

"Dearest Taylor, I'll kill any man who gets in the way of our marriage. Message to John Kerry, Secretary of State. Message from YOUR Presidential Candidate."

In court papers, the RED singer stated that Sweet's conduct is "seriously alarming and harassing and are extremely distressing to me and my family" and that she does "not have desire to interact with or communicate in any way with Mr. Sweet."

The singer was granted the order, after expressing concern for her safety and the safety of her family.  A judge ruled that Sweet must stay at least 100 yards away from Swift and her mother, father and brother, until March 25, when a court hearing will take place to decide whether to extend the order.

Over the recent months, Sweet has reportedly appeared at the singer's homes in Nashville and Beverly Hills, as well as the offices of her record label. He has repeatedly tried contacting Swift's relatives trying to get in touch with her. Sweet is prohibited from contacting Swift through any electronic means, including social media websites.
