Former Soap Actor, Nathaniel Marston, Passed Away After Being Paralyzed By A Car Mishap

An Oct. 30 car accident left Nathaniel Marston, an actor of TV soap opera "One Life to Live", paralyzed with broken neck and a collapsed lung. But he just passed away on Wednesday at the age of 40.

The news had been confirmed by his mother, Elizabeth Jackson, on Facebook. She said that Marston's body had stopped reacting to medication.  Elizabeth also thanked those who prayed and supported them over the last 12 days. The information for the memorial service will soon be announced according to her.

"Dear family and friends, it is with a heavy heart that I share this devastating news," she posted on the social networking site.  "My beloved and cherished son, Nathaniel Marston, who was putting up the good fight until last night was not able to continue due to the traumatic and devastating nature of his injuries. Nathaniel passed away peacefully as I held him in my arms."

ew.com reported that the actor had suffered a broken neck and back after the accident in Reno, Nevada. He has been in critical condition for weeks. The horrific crash 12 days ago had left him also with broken shoulder and ribs, mirror.co.uk reported.  Entertainment Tonight had reported that the actor was rested on a life-support after the car crash.

His mother added, "His injuries, which Dr.'s did their best to heal were not responding to treatment and one after another his bodily functions failed to support his life. Had Nathaniel lived he would have required a ventilator and would never have been able to utter one more word and would have been sentenced to life as a quadriplegic. A condition that Nate would have never have been able to tolerate. By God's love and mercy Nathaniel was spared this living hell."

Martson was known for his character as Michael McBain on "One Life To Live." He also showed off on "As the World Turns" until 1999. He also come out in his guest-starring roles on "Law & Order: SVUWhite CollarCastle, and Blue Bloods".
