The Right Food For The Heart- Some Of It Might Shock You

It is no longer a secret that a person's eating habits and even the very food they eat has a lot of effect on the heart of a person. In order to have a healthy heart and completely not be bothered by the risk of getting heart disease, it is a must that one is aware of the food that they are taking in on a daily basis.

In an article published by Live Science, they pointed out some interesting food that would help in keeping the heart healthy, some of them might even shock people thinking they couldn't be on the said list.

It has been known through many studies created by nutritionists and scientists that trans fat and added sugar are not good for the heart (and probably for the entire body in general). Artificial sweeteners are among these as well, but a new study might make some people raise their eyebrows.

According to Dr. Amit Khera, the director of the Preventive Cardiology Program at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center "There are numerous rigorous studies being performed linking nutrients to levels of risk factors, like cholesterol levels or body weight."

Dr. Khera even shared some of the foods that are often mistaken to be healthy for the heart and one of them is coconut oil. This one even became popular, as it made people think that it is actually good in preventing heart disease. Apparently, this needs to be studied more carefully and people should stop assuming that it does such thing to the heart.

On the other hand, monounsaturated fats are said to be good for the heart and people could reap benefits from it. Apart from that, it could also help in weight loss.
