Prom season is here again, a time for brave high school students to ask various celebrities to prom via YouTube videos--and Miley Cyrus has received the first invitation.
According to the New York Daily News, High School student Matt Peterson posted a viral video inviting the 21-year-old pop singer to be his prom date on May 3. uploaded Jan. 31.
"I have been a fan of yours from the beginning. You've changed my life, and I want to repay you by giving you the best night of your life," Matt wrote alongside his prom invite in his video uploaded Jan. 31. "In order to do that, allow me to take you to my Prom on May 3, 2014."
Adding: "I promise you, we will have a great time.. and after our first encounter, I won't cry on your dress. I hope you will tell me yes when I'm sitting with roses in the 6th row at your BANGERZ tour in Phoenix on February 27th!"
The video ended with the 17-year-old goes from wearing a "Team Miley" shirt to posing naked with a dozen roses and a giant foam finger. The video has received over 500,000 views.
"I promise it will be the best night of your life and if you aren't the slow dancing type, no worries, I go to public school and grinding is allowed," Peterson said in his video.
Unfortunately (though perhaps not surprisingly), the singer declined Peterson invitation, but offered a great alternative to the Arizona teen.
"Dear Matt Peterson, I don't think I'll be able to make it to prom BUT why don't you come to my AZ show & hang w me? Don't forget a corsage," the singer tweeted as a response to the invitation.
"I need a tongue tuxedo made by the 27th. THIS IS THE BEST DAY OF MY WHOLE ENTIRE LIFE!!! #mileyprom," he enthusiastically replied on Twitter.
In the video the teenager recaps two previous encounters with the former Hannah Montana star.

He uploaded a video including footage of his 2009 meeting with the singer during a KISS FM radio interview and a second video of Cyrus mentioning his name several months later at a concert he attended.
The "Adore You" singer is gearing up for her Bangerz tour, which kicks off Feb. 16 in Tacoma, WA. The singer has been previewing her costumes and dance routine in a series of photos uploaded to her Twitter.
