At last! The sequel of the critically-acclaimed film "Avatar" is now happening and is set to break records in 2017!

International Design Times, however, reported that protagonist Jake Sully (Sam Worthing) and Neytiri (Zoe Saldana) will face a dark chapter in their relationship in the upcoming second installment of the movie franchise.

Fans have been waiting for the sequel of the multi-awarded movie after six years since the epic sci-fi was released in 2009. Luckily, the reels are now rolling and the crew and cast of "Avatar 2" are now working for a smooth and complex method of filming the hybrid human-aliens.

Christian Post shared that "Avatar 2" will feature a dark prison theme, aside from the heartbreaking struggle between Jake and Neytiri. There are reports claiming that the Na'vi couple will be forced to live their separate lives due to the war, which Realty Today remarked is "is necessary for the characters to grow and strengthen themselves."

"Jake and Neytiri will be back to their tribe and will continue to serve their group; however, there are swirling rumors that they might be broken apart because of the upcoming war," IDesignTimes revealed. "Also, it was said that their separation is needed to make them stronger."

Meanwhile, Parent Herald reported that "Avatar 2" will explore Pandora's ecosystem. Additionally, Stephen Lang might be seen in the much-anticipated sequel and the story behind his survival will be unveiled.

"It's all the scuba diving I did before I even started the deep ocean stuff that has more of a direct connection to "Avatar 2 & 3," which, by the way, won't take place completely in or under the water," Director James Cameron said in a statement. "That's just part of the environment of Pandora that we're going to see."

"Avatar 2" is set to premiere and attempt to break records on Dec. 25, 2017.
