A famous English actor, Martin Freeman is best known for playing different roles mostly in sitcoms or dramas. He's recognized as Tim Canterbury in the sitcom The Office, Dr. John Watson in Sherlok, and Lester Nygaard in the TV series Fargo. Freeman is also well known as Bilbo Baggins in The Hobbit, a prequel to The Lord of the Rings trilogy directed by Peter Jackson.
In Weller's new music video, Freeman plays as a hot-tempered DIY (Do it yourself) enthusiast. The video shows that he is just an average man staggering on the brink of rage. According to The Guardian, the actor portrays the frustrations of a man living in the suburbs. He sits in his empty home quietly and thoughtfully before he destroys his sofa and shed using a chainsaw.
The song 'Pick It Up' can is part of Paul Weller's 12th solo album 'Saturns Pattern' which was just released last May. On NME's website, Weller announced his major solo tour this November and December which included dates in Manchester Arena and London Eventim Apollo.
Weller explains about his song 'Pick It Up': "I was trying to get a Meters vibe to it. Stan (producer Jan 'Stan' Kybert) had a drum loop and I put a funky guitar on it and that was all we had for a while. Eventually we pieced it all together. Whatever shatters pick it up: pretty straight-forward message."
Weller, a former member of the band The Jam, said that he will not be reuniting with his band. Despite this fact, Weller is definitely not going to stop creating music. He said "more than ever, the older I get, the more I want to see what I can do. I just want to push it as far as I can." Furthermore saying, "I don't know where I will end up or what will happen with it. But I think it is my job to do that."
