If you wonder what kind of guy Bill Murray is behind the scenes of Scrooged and Saturday Night Live, Mitch Glazer says he's the kind of guy that throws fans in the pool. Bill Murray is the kind of guy you meet at a bar, says Bruce Weber in his short film shooting Vanity Fair's December Christmas Cover.
Mitch Glazer, who is an American movie producer, writer and very good close friend of Bill Murray recounts a time when Murray, or Bill as he fondly calls him, took the whole Scrooged (A modernized version of Charles Dickens' A Christmas Carol) team out at 5:30 in the morning. He took them to a spa at Mexico where the only occupants were about 60 Beverly Hills Housewives - the kind with fur, gold and pearls - and The Six Million Dollar Man, Lee Majors.
Glazer goes on while Murray fondly smiles at the memory that a woman wearing fur and gold walked up to Murray while he was swimming laps in the pool. She wanted to ask for an autograph for her son who was such a big fan of his. He agrees but tells the woman that he'll throw her in the pool. Her only reply was a hearty laugh. Murray, a man of his word, signs the autograph then grabs her and drags her to the poolside. The woman screamed while being thrown into the pool. In a stoic voice, he says "That's the kind of guy I am."
The two laughed like it was a memorable event. Glazer and Murray have been good friends for almost forty years with Glazer witnessing majority of Murray's outrageous antics similar to the pool-throwing incident.
Bruce Weber is the photographer tasked to take photos of Bill Murray for the December Christmas cover of Vanity Fair in Montauk, New York. Weber says the whole team wanted to take a selfie with him but all Murray wanted was to leave with the fencer, the blonde dance partner and Weber's dogs, Vanity Fair reports in a video broadcasted online.
