6 Things You Probably Did Not Know About Martha Stewart

Martha Stewart is probably one of the most famous home makers there is, but how well do we actually know the lifestyle expert.

According to FOX News, Stewart began building her empire in the 70's, when she launched her own catering company. The self-taught chef studied culinary legends like Julia Child and her books on French cuisine.

During her career as America's greatest cook/baker/host, Stewart released over 70 books on craft creations, lifestyle tips, and cooking technique.

Here are some interesting facts about her you may not know:

Late Night EaterLike many Americas, Stewart can't resist eating from an open refrigerator. FOX reported that the lifestyle mogul often drinks buttermilk straight from the carton and adores liverwurst, pickles, and hot dogs. Stewart also has a hard time sleeping and often indulges in late night television shows.

She likes rap music: While on the set of "The Martha Stewart Show" the celebrity chef said she often listens to rap music and her preferred hip-hop artist, Eminem.

Modeling ChefBefore establishing her name for her culinary pursuits, Stewart earned a paycheck by modeling and appearing in magazine and television ads, such as Tareyton's cigarettes. Stewart later became a stockbroker at a small firm Monness, Williams and Sidel.

Country GirlStewart owns a farm house, which is home to four horses, 200 chickens, two sheep, three miniature donkeys, five cats, three dogs and 25 red canaries. While on the farm, Stewart also plays the role of beekeeper.

Baseball ConnectionsAt the age of 10, Stewart had some pretty impressive connections, when she became the babysitter for children of baseball greats Mickey Mantle, Yogi Berra, and Gil McDougald.

Clean EaterAfter divorcing her husband Andrew Stewart in 1987, Stewart dated actor Anthony Hopkins, but after watching "The Silence Of The Lambs," she reportedly could not support Hopkins' character eating habits.
