Apparently, the Wahlberg boys are really popular in Massachusetts.
According to Boston.com, the premiere of the "Wahlburgers" reality TV show at Hingham Harbor on Wednesday, sold out in just one hour after going on sale at noon.
Only 100 tickets were sold to the event, which takes place Jan. 22 with proceeds going to the Dorchester Youth Collaborative, an organization for low-income urban youth.
"It's all about the Dorchester Youth Collaborative, and the money is going to benefit them, so I'm really happy for them," Paul Wahlberg, chef of Wahlburgers, said in a phone interview, according to Boston.com.
The A&E reality show is about Wahlberg brothers Paul, Donnie and Mark operating the Wahlburgers family restaurant in Hingham, Mass. The three brothers co-own the restaurant. Paul said along with the $2,500 raised from ticket sales, people will have additional chances to donate during the premiere.
"It's a program that Mark [Wahlberg] has been affiliated with for a long time," Paul said, according to Boston.com. "We're very excited for it, and they were excited as well. It's a great program, what they do over there is amazing.
"It seemed like the right thing to do for Wahlburgers, and for people affiliated with the restaurant stuff. It's more about them than it is for me. It's showing our gratitude to them. And it's for a very good cause," he said.
Attendees will be treated with food and drinks before heading into the screening. Alma Wahlberg, mother of the three brothers is expected to be in attendance, Boston.com reported.
"I'll be there cooking and running around," Paul said.
"Wahlburgers" will hit the airwaves on Jan. 22 at 10:30 p.m.
