The multi-day music and arts festival in New Orleans - Voodoo Music + Arts Experience, announced that their Sunday sets will not take place due to "dangerous weather conditions" that swept the place over the Halloween weekend.
Performances by Canadian progressive-house music performer - Deadmau5, American rapper - Chance the Rapper, Zac Brown Band (country music band), Eric Prydz (Swedish DJ), British hard rock band - Cult, American rock band - Third Eye Blind and more artists were nixed due to the cancellation of the event, which came after forecasters envisioned more heavy rain and flash flooding in the area. "The decision to cancel today was based on the welfare of the Tribe - fans, artists, staff, vendors, and everybody involved."
Reportedly, the weather began to become an issue for Voodoo Music + Arts Experience during the headlining set of the lead vocalist of the band Black Sabbath - Ozzy Osbourne, on Saturday night, as constant rain left the festival venue totally muddied.
Organizers of the event said in a statement, "Due to dangerous weather conditions, including the forecasted persistent rain and flash flood warnings for Orleans Parish for November 1, the final day of the 2015 Voodoo Music + Arts Experience has been cancelled." "Fan safety is the top concern for the producers of the festival and current conditions at City Park do not meet our standards for maintaining a safe experience."
In 2015, severe weather has become an unlucky trend at music festivals, as the annual music festival - Lollapalooza's Sunday afternoon festivities, the headlining set of the American rock band - Kings of Leon at Delaware's Firefly Fest and the concert of the band founded by Nirvana drummer Dave Grohl - Foo Fighters at Festival D'ete De Quebec were all discarded due to extreme conditions.
However, event officials stated that refunds will be available due to the cancellation of the Voodoo Music + Arts Experience event.
