‘Alice Through The Looking Glass’: 'Disney' Debuts New Teaser

Disney posted on social media a very short teaser to the sequel to the studio's 2010 blockbuster film "Alice Through The Looking Glass" on Sunday, Nov. 1, 2015.

Deadline reported that Mia Wasikowska is set to return as Alice. Stars who will join her in the forthcoming sequel include Johnny Depp, Anne Hathaway and Helena Bonham Carter who will play the characters of Madhatter, White Queen and Red Queen respectively.

Other stars who were casted to join the latest installment are Rhys Ifans as Zanik Hightopp, also known as father of Mad Hatter, and Sacha Baron Cohen as Time. Meanwhile, Alan Rickman, Michael Sheen and Stephen Fry will also be returning as the respective voices of Blue Caterpillar, White Rabbit and the Cheshire Cat.

Linda Woolverton wrote the script which James Robin will be directing. Also, Jennifer Todd, Suzanne Todd and Joe Roth are again onboard as producers for the film. It will be available for viewing in theatres in May 27, 2016.

"Disney's live-action Alice in Wonderland was a gorgeous display of Tim Burton's vision and Carroll's beautiful storytelling when it was released in 2010," Nerdist shared. "And given this teensy little teaser the studio released this morning, Alice Through The Looking Glass (please stop calling it Alice in Wonderland 2, Internet), its sequel is looking to be another stunner."

To recall, the Tim Burton-directed "Alice in Wonderland" was a massive hit when it was released in 2010, pulling in $334.2 million domestically and more than $1 billion worldwide. Variety shared that Disney previously released a pair of posters for the upcoming movie in August, giving a glimpse at Wasikowska as well as Depp's Mad Hatter.

"One showed Alice walking on pocket watch stepping stones across water and the other showed the Mad Hatter from the back doing the same thing walking away," DailyMail informed ."The tag line then was: 'It's time for a little madness.'"
