Former 'Biggest Loser' favorite Leigh Westren has revealed he once had an addiction to the dangerous drug 'ice' that lasted for eight months.
The 28 year old, who competed on the weight loss program back in 2011, talked to New Idea magazine about his substance abuse and revealed he used it about 20 times a day alongside other substance users.
Throughout the course of his addiction, he admitted that he spent an estimated $80,000 on the drug and dropped to just 69 kgs.
"I was 69kg. I looked shocking - really scrawny and gaunt. I loved it because I was so skinny - but the truth is, I looked like a meth addict," the former contestant revealed to the publication.
He further revealed how he got involved into the substance abuse with other users.
Westren explained, "I thought I'd have ice once and that was it. But I loved the high it gave me, so I took it again ... and again, and again. Within a week, I'd gone from trying ice for the first time to becoming an ice addict. I was hanging out in crack houses and doing ice all day with junkies, hanging with dealers."
Leigh revealed it was July 2014 when he first tried the deadly drug after the death of his relative but managed to quit after eight months after he realized the negative impacts that the substance brought him.
And when asked how he managed to get through with it, He said, "The important thing is that I focus on staying off drugs and repairing my relationship with my parents."
According to News.com.au, Westren weighed 130 kg when he joined the sixth season of the 'Biggest Loser' and he lost a staggering nearly 60 kg throughtout the show. He appeared on the show alongside his former girlfriend of six years, Lara Whalan.
