Jay Z and Beyoncé End 22-day Vegan Diet With Seafood in Miami

Jay Z's vegan diet is over.

According to The New York Post, the rapper and his wife, Beyoncé, have completed their 22-day vegan challenge. The couple eliminated meat and animal products from their diets until Christmas and the "Holy Grail" rapper made the announced on his Life + Times blog, one day before his 44th birthday on Dec. 3.

"On December 3, one day before my 44th birthday, I will embark on a 22 Day challenge to go completely vegan, or as I prefer to call it, plant-based!" Jay-Z wrote. "This all began a few months back when a good friend and vegan challenged me to embrace a 'plant-based breakfast' every day. It was surprisingly easier on me than I thought."

The rapper went on to explain why he waited until now to practice new eating habits, calling it "a spiritual and physical cleanse."

"There's something spiritual to me about it being my 44th birthday and the serendipity behind the number of days in this challenge; 22 (2+2=4) coupled with the fact that the challenge ends on Christmas Day," he wrote. "It just feels right!"

According to the Post, the power couple were first seen eating meat at Pappadeaux Seafood Kitchen in Norcross, Ga., over the weekend. Sources told the newspaper that the restaurant's chef, Alfredo Alvarez, paid a personal visit to the couple, to ask them what they would like to eat.

Beyoncé and Jay Z reportedly requested pappardelle, lobster risotto and seafood casserole. While having dinner the couple ran into singer Gloria Estefan and her family.

The couple later traveled to Miami and reportedly had diner at Seasalt and Pepper, on Sunday.
