Caitlyn Jenner Named One Of 'Glamour' Magazine's Women Of The Year

After celebrating her first birthday since she transitioned to Caitlyn Jenner, the Olympic champion definitely has another reason to celebrate.

Caitlyn Jenner has been honored by Glamour as one of its 'Women of the Year' recipients, according to reports. On Thursday, October 29, the 66-year old reality TV personality, who has just transitioned from Bruce to Caitlyn earlier this year, has been recognized for her advocacy work.

Caitlyn Jenner, who also came out as a woman with her amazingly stylish look on Vanity Fair's cover last April, has used her celebrity power to stand for issues affecting the whole transgender community such as suicide and bullying.

While the ride has never been easy for this brave woman, who kept her secret for more than 50 years, many are still left with a question as to why she finally decided to come out and reveal her true self.

"I started thinking, Maybe this why God put me on earth. This issue has been swept under the rug for so long," Jenner told Glamour. "I need to tell this story on the highest level you can possibly do it. Not just for me, but for this entire country."

As Jenner went on to spill her thoughts out about finally becoming the person she has always wanted to be, she also did not miss out sharing how "excited" she is "for the first time".

"And that is a nice feeling to have. To be honest with you, if the worst thing in the world that happens to you is you are trans, you've got it made." she continued.

Other recipients who will be joining Caitlyn Jenner on receiving the prestigious award are Victoria Beckham, Elizabeth Holmes, Misty Copeland, Reese Witherspoon, Cecile Richards, U.S Women's national soccer team and women from the Charleston, South Carolina's church shooting incident.

Glamour's 25th Anniversary Women of the Year Awards will be taking place at the Carnegie Hall, New York City on November 9, Monday.
