Michelle Rodriguez to Star in Gender-Swapping Thriller 'Tomboy'

The Fast and Furious franchise star Michelle Rodriguez will go under the knife for Tomboy, A Revenger's Tale, the gender swap thriller motion picture to be helmed by Walter Hill - best known for his action films and revival of the Western genre.

The American actress and film producer Sigourney Weaver is already on board, to also star in the flick, and Tomboy, A Revenger's Tale will be produced by Said Ben Said (2015's French-Swiss drama film - In the Shadow of Women) and SBS' Michel Merkt.

The script of Tomboy, A Revenger's Tale is written by Hill from a story by the journalist, novelist and screenwriter - Denis Hamill. The plot of the movie focuses on a master hitman who is defrauded by hoodlums and falls into the hands of a scoundrel surgeon called "The Doctor," and turns him into a woman. The hitman turned to a hitwoman sets out for vengeance, supported by a queer nurse named Johnnie.

Handling international sales on the movie, is Solution Entertainment Group, co-founded by Lisa Wilson and Myles Nestel, they will present it to buyers at the upcoming film industry event - American Film Market. The North American rights is represented by ICM.

In an statement made by Ben Saïd Ben and Michel Merkt, they said, "We are beyond excited to be working with Walter, a renowned filmmaker known for producing the classic 'Alien' franchise who continues to break boundaries with this original script which has attracted a phenomenal cast and crew. We can't wait to begin shooting and bring all these visionary and talented minds together." 

While the Solution Entertainment Group's Lisa Wilson and Myles Nestel said, "Following the massive global success of this year's 'Furious 7,' we are delighted to have Michelle Rodriguez on board to inhabit this strong-willed, empowered character in the action-filled thriller opposite the legendary Sigourney Weaver. With master filmmaker Walter Hill at the helm, this unique story keeps audiences guessing at every turn."
