Razor Blade Croissant: Connecticut Woman Finds Several Blades After Biting into Her Pastry

A Connecticut woman made a shocking discovery after biting into a Dunkin' Donuts croissant. In addition to the flaky pastry, she also got a mouthful of razor blades.

According to NBC Connecticut, Priscilla Salas, who had ordered the pastry from a Dunkin' Donuts store in Windham, made the discovery when she felt something sharp cut the inside of her mouth

"I was floored completely," Salas said.

Salas said several metal razor blade shards were inside the breading of the croissant. She said she almost swallowed the razor pieces, which cut into her mouth and made her bleed.

"Oh my God, is it what I think it is? I was in shock," Salas told NBC Connecticut. "It could be a little kid eating it, not knowing what it is and then their mouths [start] bleeding or something so it is concerning."

According to NBC Connecticut, some of the several pieces found in the pastry measured up to one-quarter inch. After photographing the metal pieces, Salas called the police and the franchise's corporate office. She was reportedly told that the metal piece she found were part of a box cutter, which made its way into the frozen pastry dough at a distribution center.

"They felt It was probably a frozen croissant from distribution center and they were going to find the exact location of it," Salas said.

Salas said she just wanted to raise awareness of the incident.

"I just think it's a public hazard," Salas told NBC Connecticut. "I want the public to know and be aware of what they buy and look over everything that they eat."

Dunkin' Donuts reportedly apologized to Salas, calling this an "isolated incident," and offered Salas a Dunkin' gift card. The company also stated they are "very concerned" about their customer's safety.
