Lea Michele Releases 90-Second Clip of New Single 'Cannonball' (LISTEN)

Lea Michele will not be debuting her new single "Cannonball" until she's performed it on "The Ellen DeGeneres Show" Thursday, but the "Glee" star released a 90-second clip on her website Monday.

"Break down/ Break down/ Break down/ I was scared to death, I was losing my mind," Michele sings on the opening lines. "But now/ I think I found the light at the end of the tunnel."

The beat picks up and Lea is belting, "And now I will start living/ Today, today, today/ I close the door/ I got this new beginning/ And I will fly/ I'll fly like a cannonball."

The 27-year-old actress also revealed the album cover for her first solo project "LOUDER". Michele wears a black sleeveless top as her brunette hair is slightly blown to the side.

The actress also shared the track list from her forthcoming album. Michele's LOUDER will be released March 4, 2014 and fans can pre-order the album now, on Michele's website. The track-listing for "LOUDER" is as follows:

1. Cannonball
2. On My Way
3. Burn With You
4. Battlefield
5. You're Mine
6. Thousand Needles
7. Louder
8. Cue The Rain
9. Don't Let Go
10. Empty Handed
11. If You Say So

In early Nov., Michele tweeted pictures from her first-ever music video shoot.

With "Glee" wrapping up the series after six seasons, Michele stated that she needed something to call her own. "Glee" creator Ryan Murphy said the decision to end the show was related to the unexpected death of Michele's real life boyfriend and "Glee" star Cory Monteith, who died in July after consuming a combination of heroin and alcohol.

"It's really [expletive] hard. It's hard. It's hard everyday," Murphy said back in October, according to Entertainment Weekly. "It's hard in the writer's room. It's hard on the set. It just feels like ... It's hard, too, because we're getting ready to wrap up a series. We're going to do one more year and that's it. So, the last scene and the last stories were always very Cory heavy."

Michele thanked "Glee" co-star Amber Riley and actress Kate Hudson for their help and support, in dealing with Monteith sudden death.

"I've got to give a shout out to Miss Amber Riley," Michele said while being honored during the L'Oreal Paris Women of Worth 2013 Dec. 3 in New York City. "She's the best. I love her so much. I'm so proud of her [and] she's been there for me so much through everything. I'm so thankful this year for those friends and my family."
