'Gotham' Recap: Did Bridgit Meet A New Villain? There Is One Unexpected Death And More Child Abuse From Alfred In 'By Fire' [SPOILERS]

[SPOILER ALERT! THE FOLLOWING ARTICLE CONTAINS DETAILS FROM THE 'GOTHAM' SEASON TWO EPISODE 'BY FIRE']

The new 'Gotham' episode 'By Fire' may have offered a glimpse at a brand-new villain at the expense of the latest baddie who just made her debut on the show!

Bridgit Pike's rapid transformation from weakling to worthy adversary was one of the highlights of last week's episode 'Scarification' so it would make sense to show more of Michelle Veintimilla's flame-throwing teenager. However, it looks like female Firefly makes several mistakes in the new episode, as she and Selina Kyle (Camren Bicondova) crash an auction and Bridgit torches her abusive brothers. To make matters worse, the young arsonist decides she can take on the most of the Gotham City Police and manages to set herself on fire.

But that's not the end for Bridgit Pike, who is later revealed to have survived the fiery accident and is brought to laboratory where someone will supposedly do experiments on her. The sign on the wall reveals Firefly is actually in Indian Hill, which belongs to Wayne Enterprises.

Is someone who is working for Wayne Enterprises manufacturing supervillains? Or has Theo Galavan (James Frain) somehow managed to squirm his way into Indian Hill?

Although Firefly's fate is still undetermined, it has been the end for Miss Kringle despite having given in to Edward Nygma's awkward advances. After she sleeps with the future Riddler, she begins to worry that her abusive boyfriend would return. Naturally, Nygma thought this would be the best time to admit that he has actually killed Officer Dougherty and she reacts by throwing things at him. Poor Nygma ends up trying to subdue her by strangling her (really Ed?) to death.

Meanwhile, Alfred Pennyworth (Sean Pertwee) continues to train Bruce Wayne (David Mazouz) so yes, there were more child-hitting scenes in this episode. Carol Kane fans will be happy to know that Butch Gilzean (Drew Powell) has managed to find out where Penguin's mother has been taken, so there will be more bloodshed in the next episode.

The next 'Gotham' Season Two episode is titled 'Mommy's Little Monster' and will air on Fox on November 2.
