Kim Fields Welcomes Second Child, Quincy Xavier Morgan, ' We Are So Blessed'

It's a boy for Kim Fields.

The "Facts of Life" actress and her husband Christopher Morgan welcomed their second son, Quincy Xavier Morgan, on Tuesday, in an Atlanta, Ga. hospital at 10:30 a.m.

"We are so blessed and grateful to God for this newest gift to our family," Fields and Morgan said in a statement to ABC News.

People reported that Quincy weighed in at eight pounds, eight ounces and measured 20 inches long. Fields and Morgan are also parents to six-year-old Sebastian. The 44-year-old actress took to Twitter Wednesday to share the big baby news with fans.

"Praise the Lord Quincy is here! 8 lbs. 8 oz. 20 inches long we are all doing great thank you for your love prayers and support!" she wrote.

The couple who married back in May 2007, announced she was expecting on the FOX morning show "The Real".

"Sebastian and Christopher are very excited. We're very, very blessed," Fields said. "It was planned. We've actually been trying for a couple years. We had gotten pregnant twice and [miscarried]. Chris and I were very blessed to really have one another, to have our family and friends and out God to really get us through that."

After the announcement, she took to Twitter to thank her fans for their support.

"Good Morning #BlessedFamily!! I thank you all for your support & kind words. There's so many tweets lol but ALL of them are appreciated!" she tweeted.

The actress, who suffered from two miscarriages, said she was surprised to find out she was expecting another child. The actress-turned-director thought she was pre-menopausal and said she went to the doctor after catching a stomach bug. Instead Fields was told she was two months pregnant.

"If I'm encouraging to anybody ... it's not like I'm the poster child for over 40 and pregnant," Fields said.

Fields appears pregnant in her holiday series, "Holiday Love: The Rebirth," a scripted musical-comedy special, also starring gospel artists Wess Morgan, Micah Stampley and Donnie McClurkin. Fields is also the executive producer.
