According to the Centers of Disease Control and Prevention, only 20 % of American adults meet the government's physical activity suggestions. 2.5 hours of moderate to extreme aerobic exercise (e.g. walking) and one hour and 15 minutes of vigorous intense aerobic exercise (e.g. jogging) every week is considered as the right standard amount of physical activity for American adults. Research company AggData, identified Fairfax City, Virgina (located outside of Washington, D.C.) to be the number one gym destination in the country, after compiling data on gym locations throughout U.S. and  systematically ranking 1,703 countries from the most to fewest gyms per every 10,000 residents. Virginia has more than 10 times the number of gym per capita than the national average. Not only that! Two other Virginia counties - Falls Church and Williamsburg -made it to the top ten of number of gyms per residents.

1.       Fairfax City, Virginia: 7.76 gyms per 24,483 residents

2.       Falls Church City, Virginia: 6.62 gyms per 13,601 residents

3.       Park, Montana: 5.67 gyms per 15,880 residents

4.       Bianco, Texas: 4.62 gyms per 10,812 residents

5.       Jasper, Georgia: 4.47 gyms per 13,432 residents
