Chocolate Maker Pays Tribute to 'Hunger-Games' With Movie Theme Bars

First there were the books, then the movies, and now comes...the chocolate!

In time for the release of the "Hunger Games: Catching Fire", Chicago chocolate maker, Vosges, is paying tribute to the movie with a line of gourmet Hunger Games-themed treats. Upscale Vosges Haut-Chocolat is selling a $225 Capitol Truffle Collection and $7.50 bars in its catalog, website and retail boutiques and Wild Ophelia has a line of $4 bars.

According to the Consumerist, there's a chocolate bar for each of the 12 "Districts of Panem" represented at the games. Beef jerky and smoked mesquite in milk chocolate represents "District 10," while "District 12," which is a salt mining town, is represented by a salt and milk chocolate creation, the Chicago Tribune reported.

The Wild Ophelia line will be sold nationwide at Walgreens, Safeway stores and local retailers, the Chicago Tribune reported. It's the first license for the company in its 15 years, and according to the company the founder said they 've created 33 recipes in four months and produced 500,000 bars for the film's release.

"It's amazing exposure for us; to have all these people see the brand," said Vosges founder Katrina Markoff. "It's a good fit because they're telling a story; and I'm a storyteller through chocolate. So this was right up my alley. Now, let's hope people collect all of the bars."

There are 18 truffles in all, each with a different texture, shape, color, and flavor. In addition to flavors like coconut-banana covered in dark chocolate the company explains on their website.

Creating a treat to go with a popular entertainment series seems to be an growing trend; other items include Breaking Bad beer, Downton Abbey and Fifty Shades of Grey wine.

"The Hunger Games: Catching Fire" starring Jennifer Lawrence as Katniss, hits U.S. movie theaters Nov. 22.
