Pokemon Expo Gym: Japan's First Edutainment Facility

If you're about to visit Japan, stop by the Pokemon Gym.  Yes, it's a Pokemon-inspired gym.  The Pokemon EXPO Gym is Japan's first hands-on edutainment facility.  Gaming has now evolved into a real sport it seems.

Reports from Mashable say that the gym is set to open next month in Osaka according to Siliconera

The gym was said to be created by Sanoyas Interaction to help fans, specifically young gamers, improve their Pokemon gaming skills.  It is also said to offer several training programs that include Charizard's Battle, Collosseum, Gardevoir's Control Score and Pokemon Battle Bowling.

Those gamers who were able to complete training courses will be rewarded with a unique Pokemon for X, Y, Alpha Sapphire and Omega ruby games.  Each training areas are expected to cost between $3 to $5.  The interactive training areas are said to last between 3 to 15 minutes, depending on the exhibit

Furthermore, it was reported that Sankei News filmed a brief tour earlier this week to show a sneak preview before the Pokemon Expo's grand opening on November 19.  Japanese pop star Mirin Furukuwa posted photos of the gym on her Twitter account the same day.

More so, a special Pokemon Expo Gym Gear smartphone app is even being created to track your stats and ranking against other players at the gym as reported by Gamespot.  The smartphone app is set to launch early next month.

Gyms are where you go to train your Pokemon before setting out in the Pokemon series.  Dozens and dozens of these Gyms that exist in Pokemon fiction were created across games and other media.

Passes to the Pokemon Expo Gym will be available for pre-order exclusively at the Pokemon Center Shop in Osaka beginning October 31.  There are no plans yet to create something like this in the United States, so Pokemon fans, better pack your bags and pay a visit to Osaka.

Meanwhile, another major Pokemon game is being created called Pokemon Go.  This mobile game challenges players to find, catch and trade Pokemon creatures in the real world.  This another one that Pokemon fans can anticipate aside from the Pokemon Expo Gym.
