Lego Shortage This Christmas? Everything is Definitely NOT Awesome

As early as September, parents have already been getting an earful from their children about what they want for Christmas. And kids have started making their lists and checking it twice since last Christmas. The song "Everything is Awesome" from the 2014 hit "The Lego Movie" comes to mind. And when CNN announced that the brick company will not be able to supply enough Lego toys in retail shelves, the tune changed. Everything is definitely not awesome for Lego for Christmas 2015.

Lego, a famous Danish toy-making company, will not be able to make enough stackable bricks for children this Christmas holiday season. Lego Spokesman Roar Trangbaek announced that the company will be unable to fulfill all of the new orders coming from customers. American consumers can breathe easy, as only the European Market is affected.

The popular toy brick toy has been a favorite both to adults and children world-wide but its popularity soared higher after The Lego Movie was released. Sales increased to 18% initially in 2014 and 15% in 2015. Popular sets include Star Wars brick characters and toys as well as The Lego Movie character set. This looks like a good sign for the toy company since it sold sixty billion Lego brick pieces last year in Europe, America and Asia  because of The Lego Movie but right now it admitted that its struggling to meet demands. The supplying factories around the world cannot cope with the number of requests coming in.

Lego now find themselves in a bottleneck and to alleviate the pressure, the company plans to expand its manufacturing sector in Hungary, Mexico, China and Denmark but that will be too late for 2015 demands. The expansion is set to operate in 2020.

Looks like Santa won't be leaving stackable Lego bricks for some European homes this Christmas.
