Scientist Revealed the Truth About Red Meat

Eating meat is one of the greatest pleasures any carnivore could come across, it is health benefits however have been an ongoing issue. Though vegans would usually showcase the downside of meat intake, Telegraph was able to highlight some fact involving meat and the rationale behind some meat sunning beliefs.

One of the most recent discussions was when Kerry McCarthy, a secretary of Britain's first ever vegan shadow farming stated that: "meat should be treated like tobacco in public health terms. Some individuals claimed that eating red meat is linked to obesity, heart disease, cancer and even early death. Though this may be backed by research, some studies disagreed to these facts.

One report surfaced that Susannah Mushatt, who turned 116 just this year, eats bacon everyday yet managed to reach more than a hundred.  Researchers stated that meat contains some of the vital minerals needed by the body to fully function.

Professor Tim Key, a Cancer Research UK scientist from the Cancer epidemiology Unit at Oxford University has been focusing in studying the correlation of Cancer and diet. He then stated: "'it's misleading to put meat in the same bracket as smoking; it's highly unlikely the effect from meat is as bad as they say it is.'"

He then added:

"While high-protein intake during middle age is harmful, it's protective for older adults: those over 65 who ate a moderate- or high-protein diet were less susceptible to disease. It is plausible that higher levels of the IGF-1 hormone might be good for people entering older age and it's an area scientists are currently working on, but it's not yet established to be true"

WebMd then added that it is filled with nutritional benefits from eating "red meat." It is high in iron which is mostly needed by woman for their child bearing years. Research also revealed that red meat provides B12 which keeps DNA and keeps nerve and red blood cells healthy and productive. It also provides zinc which keeps the immune system fully function.
