Sean Penn Madonna: It’s Been 26 Years Since ‘Material Girl’ Divorced ‘Dead Man Walking,’ Could 80s Power Couple Have Reignited After Charlize Theron Split?

In 1985, Sean Penn and Madonna got married and became one of the hottest power couples of the decade, often making headlines over their relationship as not only she was (and still is one of) the biggest pop star in the world, but he was among the rising actors of his generation - could flames have reignited between them three decades later?

Up until a few months back, the actor was engaged to fellow Oscar winner Charlize Theron, but the "Mad Max: Fury Road" star reportedly dumped him in the days around last Cannes Film Festival; since, Penn has been rumored to be dating Minka Kelly, until the new Sean Penn and Madonna rumors popped back.

According to Radar Online, the rumors of Sean Penn and Madonna getting back together surfaced after the "Milk" actor was spotted on the crowd of one of the Queen of Pop's concerts in New York (the ones that had Amy Schumer as an opening act), looking at the "Material Girl" singer "adoringly."

The Inquisitr reports that, in fact, Penn has been in two of Madonna's concerts of her "Rebel Heart" tour, also meeting his former wife in Vancouver, where Sean Penn and Madonna reportedly met up at a hotel for a secret rendezvous.

While neither Sean Penn nor Madonna have directly spoken about rumors of them getting back together, Dylan, Penn's 24 year-old daughter with second wife Robin Wright set the record straight: nothing's going on between her dad and his first wife.

"I think he just really admires her work," said Dylan to Entertainment Tonight while promoting her first-ever film, "The Condemned." "They're just really good friends and it's sweet that they can have this relationship."

The marriage between the pop star and the actor only lasted four years, as they divorced in 1989, but they were among the most action-packed marriages in Hollywood history, with domestic abuse allegations and a number of issues with the press, including Penn beating a photographer.

Could Sean Penn and Madonna really have worked it out nearly three decades after divorcing?
