Monday was a great day for 'Star Wars' fans as the final poster for 'Star Wars: The Force Awakens' was finally released. Almost immediately, everyone analyzed the image, which featured the first true glimpse at Carrie Fisher as Princess Leia Organa Solo.
However, the poster also showed an eerie familiar-looking weapon over Rey's shoulder and above Finn's head. The appearance of what looks like a new and more dangerous-looking Death Star piqued the interest of fans and instantly led to more theories about 'Star Wars: Episode VII.'
[SPOILERS AHEAD]
According to GeekTyrant, we may be looking at the First Order's Starkiller Base. As previously hinted upon, the First Order has dwelled in an ice planet and slowly converted it into their stronghold. The Starkiller Base has been given its name because it is armed with a deadly weapon that can eliminate entire star systems.
If the Starkiller Base is indeed a planet that has been turned into a weapon, has the First Order created a more effective Death Star?
It has been previously revealed that the Starkiller Base is filled with thousands and thousands of Stormtroopers as well as numerous Star Destroyers and TIE Fighters. In addition to that, the Base is under the guidance of General Hux (Domhnall Gleeson), who is described by director J.J. Abrams as "merciless."
Another feature that can be seen in the 'Star Wars: The Force Awakens' poster is how Rey's weapon appears to line up perfectly with Kylo Ren's crossbar lightsaber, making the stick look like it is also a red lightsaber. The image hints on the possibility that Rey (Daisy Ridley) and Kylo Ren (Adam Driver) are either related or even siblings, and most likely the Skywalker children everyone keeps talking about.
How deadly is the Starbase Killer? And are Kylo Ren and Rey truly the Skywalker twins? All will be revealed when 'Star Wars: The Force Awakens' finally premieres on December 18.
