'Underworld: Next Generation' Spoilers: Filming Begins, Kate Beckinsale Goes Against Big ‘Game of Thrones’ Stars

"Underworld 5" or "Underworld: Next Generation" has begun filming Monday in Prague, and multiple reports claim that 10 weeks of filming will take place in the Czech capital.

Of course, Kate Beckinsale is back as the film's heroine, but there is so much more than Kate's sexy character to look out for in "Underworld: Next Generation."

Majority of the details of the plot of "Underworld 5" remain unknown, however, it has already been confirmed that Theo James, which joined the series in "Underworld: Awakening" in 2012, will be reprising his role as the character David.

It's not only James and Beckinsale that fans will find familiar in the new instalment of "Underworld: Next Generation." According to rumors, despite the new generations of vampires and lycans being introduced into the film, viewers will find the plot revolving around the rivalry between the two beings once again.

According to reports, "Underworld: Next Generation" will continue the story of the previous instalment, wherein vampire Selene wakes up from a cryogenic sleep, finding herself in a world where vampires and lycans are known to humans.

The leader of the lycans will be portrayed by Tobias Menzies of "Outlander." Meanwhile, a new, "fiercely ambitious vampire" will be played by Lara Pulver of "Sherlock." The two characters will get into a conflict that leads to the two species' leaders getting into a battle as well.

It appears that "Underworld: Next Generation" is aiming to bring back the theme of the original "Underworld" film while trying to get into a younger fan base with the introduction of new, younger characters. This may well lead to another set of films or a TV adaptation, but that is still a long shot as the younger generation is not easy to please.

According to Screen Rant, success for such an aim could vary. The franchise trick has been apparent in "Terminator Genisys," however, fans' responses were not exactly high-rating.

Another "Underworld: Next Generation" spoiler is that the upcoming "Underworld" film could be Beckinsale's last, meaning Selene might die. Rumors suggest that Scott Speedman is also returning, and if this is true, Selene and Micheal Corvin may attempt at finding a better life, away from the chaos. However, knowing "Underworld," it is more likely that the two main characters may not find a happy ending, according to The Inquisitr.

"Underworld: Next Generation" will also feature big "Game of Thrones" actors Charles Dance (Tywin Lannister) and James Faulkner (Randyll Tarly). The "Underworld 5" cast will also feature Peter Andersson from "The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo," Clementine Nicholson, Daisy Head and Bradley James, according to Entertainment Weekly.

"Underworld: Next Generation" will have "Outlander" and "Criminal Minds" Director Anna Foerster, its first female director, and a script by Cory Goodman. "Underworld 5" is set for release on October 21, 2016.
