Reser's Fine Foods, a Topeka, Kan. establishment, is recalling approximately 22,800 pounds of chicken, ham and beef products due to possible contamination with Listeria monocytogenes, the U.S. Department of Agriculture's Food Safety and Inspection Service announced Wednesday.

The recall has been stamped as a Class I, which means that consuming contaminated food would result in a "reasonable probability" of "serious," health consequences or death.

Products regulated by FSIS bear the establishment number "EST. 13520" or "P-13520" inside the USDA mark of inspection. Some specific packages include Cobble Street Market Chicken Salad, Cross Valley Farms Chicken Salad, Cross Valley Farms Ham Salad, Reser's Fine Foods White Meat Chicken Salad with Cranberries & Pecans, Reser's Fine Foods White Meat Chicken Salad and Classic Chicken Salad.

Listeria, a bacteria found everywhere in the soil and ground water, can cause fever, muscle aches, nausea and diarrhea and is especially dangerous for the elderly, children and pregnant women.

According to Mayo Clinic, a listeria infection can be fatal for unborn babies, newborns, and people who have weakened immune systems.

The Mayo Clinic cites symptoms such as fever, muscle aches, nausea, and diarrhea, followed by more serious symptoms if the infection spreads to your nervous system, such as headache, stiff neck, confusion or changes in alertness, loss of balance, and convulsions.

If you have questions about the recall, contact the Reser's Fine Foods Consumer Hotline at 1-888-257-7913 (8am - 8pm EST).
