Ja Rule wants to release a cook book inspired by his time in prison.
TMZ reported that the 37-year-old rapper, who spend two years in jail for gun possession and tax evasion, admitted to the to barely touching the crappy cafeteria food while being imprisoned at Ray Brook Federal Prison.
Ja Rule, whose real name is Jeffrey Atkins, and his cellmates were able to cook treats such as cheesecake and lasagna in their dorm despite a lack of real ingredients and space.
''I ate everything. In jail, they're pretty crafty. We made lasagna, we made cheesecakes, we had lots of things," he said. "I really didn't eat prison food. I didn't go to the chow line too much. We usually just cooked in our dorm. Yeah, yeah, we cooked our own stuff. So what we made was pretty decent. It wasn't bad.''
Page Six reported the rapper made an appearance on Geoffrey Zakarian's SiriusXM show "Food Talk" during the New York City Wine & Food Festival; while on the mic, the "Always on time" rapper talked about how his stint in prison taught him how to make all sorts of foods that were ''microwavable."
"He explained that while behind bars he learned to cook anything and everything in a microwave," said a spy at the show, which airs Wednesday.
During the broadcast Ja Rule was surrounded by high-profile chefs including Guy Fieri, Bobby Flay and Marcus Samuelsson. Since becoming something of a food nuking expert while behind bars, Ja Rule announced he wants to write a cookbook featuring solely microwavable dishes.
