A Shooting Occurred in a Zombie-Themed Art and Music Festival in Florida [PHOTOS + VIDEOS]

ZombiCon is a place where zombie-loving fans can get together, and have fun as they indulge in the zombie-themed arts and music festival in Fort Myers, Florida.

However, a major turn of events happened just before the clock stroke midnight on Saturday: A 20-year-old man was killed, while five others were left injured because of a shooting that erupted.

True Crime reports that the shooter remains at large as of Sunday evening.

The "pre-Halloween street party" gathers up to 20,000 civilians clad in costumes - and this year celebrated a "Fallout: 1985" theme. The chaotic scene was aptly described by CNN:

"Crowds of festivalgoers fled screaming through the streets after the shots rang out late Saturday at ZombiCon.

"It cleared out fast and cop cars and ambulances came,' said Savannah Holden, who watched the panic unfold from a hotel balcony."

Furthermore, the man who died at the scene from a gunshot wound - later identified as Expavious Tyrell Taylor, an ASA College student in Miami. Fort Myers mayor Randall Henderson revealed that Taylor was one of the random victims during the dreadful shooting.

Four out of the five injured victims were taken to Lee Memorial Hospital for further treatment. Thankfully, all five victims did not suffer from life-threatening injuries from the incident.

The organizers of Zombicon, Pushing DaiZies, Inc. are deeply saddened by the news of what happened within the footprint...
