Donald Glover is returning to TV. The Rapper, Actor, and Comedian has just inked a deal with FX to bring his rap comedy Atlanta to the network.

The 32 year-old Glover hasn't had a major TV gig since leaving NBC's cult comedy hit Community in 2014. He appeared in 89 episodes.

His new project, which is so far scheduled for 10 episodes, will show him wearing the hats of writer, executive producer, and lead actor. The 30 minute show will focus on two cousins trying to climb their way through Atlanta's rap music scene.

Speaking with Deadline, FX's Nick Grad had this to say about the show.

"Atlanta draws on Donald's considerable talents as a musician, actor and writer to give us something unique, "The story is made all the more powerful by the great cast and the contributions of Donald's fellow executive producer Paul Simms and director Hiro Murai."

Back in July, Time Magazine revealed the show's official cast.

Joining Glover are: Brian Tyree Henry (The Knick, Boardwalk Empire), Lakeith Lee Stanfield (Short Term 12, Dope) and Zazie Beetz (Applesauce).

The Time report says that Glover will play Earnest Marks, a man trying to manage the rap career of his cousin Alfred Miles (Henry). It also mentions that Stanfield will play Darius, Alfred's collaborator, and Beetz will play the mother of Earn's child.

It's been a busy year for Glover. He bagged roles in big films like Magic Mike XXL and The Martian and continued to impress as a rapper despite the lack of any big album release.

He also had a high profile gig as the voice actor for Marvel's newly minted Spider-Man, Miles Morales.

Will Atlanta be a success for the multi-talented Glover? We'll have to wait until next year to see.
