'Lupita Nyong'o' Rocks Head-to-Toe Red Ensemble For 'Eclipsed' Debut

Lupita Nyong'o dazzled in a head-to-toe crimson ensemble at the opening night of her new play "Eclipsed" on Wednesday, Oct. 14, at the Public Theater in New York City.

The 32-year-old Oscar-winning red carpet darling modeled a sequined, red Dior dress. She paired it with a matching Aquazzura pointed-toe pumps and a Judith Leiber clutch bag. Lupita added more sparkle to her ensemble as she accessorized it with diamond rings and 7.76-carat diamond earrings set in platinum which are all courtesy of Chopard.

The "12 Years A Slave" star worked her natural curly mane, pushed back and held in place with the aid of a double-strand headband braid for the occasion. Us Weekly informed that she will be next seen in the much-anticipated "Star Wars" sequel.

She completed her look with a rocking blushed cheeks and Lancome L'Abslu Velours, a stunning matte gloss, in 493 Velours De Violine, International Design Times reported.

Lupita made her NYC stage debut with Danai Gurira's "Eclipsed" where she is playing he youngest captive wife of a rebel soldier during the Liberian Civil War. ""So happy to have the Opening of #EclipsedPlay happen @publictheaterny," the actress posted via Instagram, Clearly moved by the warm welcome she received on opening night. "The intimacy with the audience in the LuEsther Theater is precious for us as actors. Thank you for all the support!" the Lancome ambassador continued.

Meanwhile, writer Danai looked stunning in a blue and silver embossed dress with a belted waist. She explained to DuJour magazine that she was inspired to write the play.

The playwright and multi-talented actress divulged to the publication that she was engrossed by an image she saw in the New York Times in 2003 about women in the Liberian war right when it was at its climax. She said "there were some women rebel fighters who were getting attention in the Western press because no one had ever seen anything like this."

The opening night looked like to have been a huge victory as both stars flashed their big smiles as they celebrated their latest feat in the field of arts.
