‘Die Hard’ 2015: Sixth Movie Could Be Reboot, Could Bruce Willis Retire From Playing John McClane After Nearly 30 Years?

In the prime of action movies, way back in 1988, television actor Bruce Willis (then famous for playing David in "Moonlighting" co-starring Cybill Shepherd, long before marrying Demi Moore) turned the genre upside down starring as John McCain in what has now become a classic Christmas movies - and now, 27 years later, the  "Die Hard" 2015 project could see him stepping down from the role.

Since the original film, Willis has played McCain in four more films, the last of which was released in 2013 under the name "A Good Day to Die Hard," and now, after two years of absence regarding the franchise, it would seem like the "Die Hard" 2015 project is to reboot the entire story.

According to The Mirror, 20th Century Fox might be in the planning stages of a "Die Hard" 2015 reboot, which would see another actor playing McClane as a young man, before his 1980s debut in a Los Angeles building attacked by German terrorist Alan Rickman.

As The Wrap reports, Len Wiseman, who directed the fourth installment of the series, the 2007 film "Live Free or Die Hard," has been approached by the studio to direct the "Die Hard" 2015 movie, which will serve as a "quasi-prequel" of the beloved first film.

According to IGN, the "Die Hard" 2015 project would be set in two different times, with Willis coming back for present-day sequences while another prequel-like story would be told 9 years before the original film; the prequel sequences would be set in 1979 New York City, where a younger actor playing McClane would show the world the character's early days as an NYPD.

For now, everything is mostly in the air in this project, and the studio hasn't even secured Willis to come on board for the "Die Hard" 2015 film.
