Taste Pink: Miami Restaurants Celebrate Breast Cancer Awareness Month

In celebration of Breast Cancer Awareness Month, many restaurants in Miami have joined in to support the cause. Throughout the month of October, a lot of restaurants in Miami will debut their most creative dishes and drinks to show support for the 30th anniversary this year of the Breast Cancer Awareness Month. Some of the restaurants will offer month-long taste of pink.

As reported in the Miami New Time, the restaurants are said to add a touch of pink in one or more of their dishes to celebrate the success acquired over the last 30 years in raising awareness about the disease.

Breast Awareness Month was a campaign founded by the American Cancer Society and the pharmaceutical division of Imperial Chemical Industries in 1985. The latter is now part of AstraZeneca which manufactures some of the breast cancer drugs. To show their support, the Miami spots have put in a little bit of spin to their offerings.

So if you're in the area, you may want to indulge in one of their special dishes to show your support. So without further adieu, here are the list of restaurants and their taste of pink dishes:

The Fontainebleu - the hotel brings back its annual Bleu Goes Pink. For seven years straight, the hotel's Chateau Tower will be lit pink every night until the end of month from dusk until 10 in the evening. It will also feature special prix-fix menus in all of signature restaurants. Chez Bon Bon is also said to offer pink delectable desserts and treats that includes strawberry éclairs, raspabery macaroon tarts, pink cotton candy, strawberry gelato and pink velvet cupcakes.

Barton G. The Restaurant - partnering with Miami Resident and New Kid on the Block member Danny Wood to show support for breast cancer awareness, 15 percent of all proceeds with the restaurant's signature dessert will go to Remember Betty, an organization founded by Wood with his mother's passing from breast cancer in 1999.

Dolce Italian - will showcase one of its signature cocktails, the Spicy Raspberry Collins, which is colored pink along with special desserts pairing of raspberry mascarpone cream. A part of the proceeds will go to Susan G. Komen Fund.

Bianca at Delano - twenty five percent of the proceeds from the savory dessert made by Armand Berger will go to Susan G. Komen Fund as well. This is only available for this month.
