Jennifer Lawrence Recalls Being Called Fat and Tells Critic 'You Can Go F--k Yourself'

Jennifer Lawrence may have an Oscar at the age of 23, but the "Hunger Games" actress recalls a time when Hollywood was not so accepting about her image.

In an interview with Harper's Bazaar UK for its November issue, Lawrence told a story about an exchange she had about her weight.

"I was young. It was just the kind of s--t that actresses have to go through," Lawrence told Harper's Bazaar. "Somebody told me I was fat, that I was going to get fired if I didn't lose a certain amount of weight. They brought in pictures of me where I was basically naked, and told me to use them as motivation for my diet."

Lawrence became a superstar with mega-successful franchise and winning a Best Actress Academy Award for "Silver Linings Playbook", but that doesn't mean she's forgotten how she was treated by image-obsessed folks in the industry.

"They thought that because of the way my career had gone, it wouldn't still hurt me," she said. "That somehow, after I won an Oscar, I'm above it all. 'You really still care about that?' Yeah. I was a little girl."

The "Winter Bone" actress puts a middle finger up to the so-called showbiz rules.

"I was hurt. It doesn't matter what accolades you get," she said. "I know it'll never happen to me again. If anybody even tries to whisper the word 'diet', I'm like, 'You can go f--k yourself.'"

This isn't the first time Lawrence has opened about her weight.

"In Hollywood, I'm obese," she told Elle magazine last year. "I'm considered a fat actress. I'm Val Kilmer in that one picture on the beach."

E! News reported Lawrence has started filming the third "The Hunger Games movie, Mockingjay-Part 1", in Georgia last week. "The Hunger Games: Catching Fire" will hit the big screen on November 22. She will also reprise her role as Mystique in "X-Men: Days of Future Past", hitting theaters next May. Lawrence's full interview appears in the November issue of Harper's Bazaar U.K. on sale Oct. 3
