Willie Nelson was forced to cancel his tour date due to an unknown health problem.
Willie Nelson and Merle Haggard was supposed to start their 2015 Django and Jimmie Tour but apparently it was cancelled due to health issues concerning the 82 year veteran country singer.
The gig was slated to begin on Oct 15 at Florence, South Carolina moving in Roanoke, Virginia on the following day, but a representative for Nelson confirmed that it was cancelled and had to be rescheduled after they found out he has an unknown medical problem.
"I have no additional details but it is only the first three dates," a spokesperson for Nelson told Taste Of Country. "The rest of the tour is on schedule."
Nick Hooker, Senior Marketing Manager from Florence Civic Center in Florence, S.C., confirmed that the show was cancelled due to Nelson's "life threatening" condition. He also said the show was rescheduled for April 6, 2016 and those who already bought tickets can keep it until the show.
According to Rolling Stone, even though his illness is still unknown, Nelson is said to be returning on the road on Sunday. He is scheduled to perform on that day at the American Roots Music and Arts Festival at Walnut Creek Amphitheater in Raleigh, North Carolina.
This is not the first time the legendary singer cancelled a tour date. In 2012, he also cancelled a show after he was rushed to a hospital after having a hard time breathing.
Just like Willie Nelson, Lynyrd Skynyrd guitarist, Gary Rossington was also forced to cancel his scheduled shows due to medical woes. His daughter, Mary Elizabeth, confirmed that his dad is currently at home recovering and under observation after he had a heart attack last Oct 8. Those who already bought tickets for the show will be refunded.
