Blake Shelton Teases Adam Levine: 'I Live to Make Him Feel Bad About Himself' (VIDEO)

"The Voice" judge Blake Shelton has won the past three seasons of the reality singing competition, but that's not the only thing he likes about the show.

On NBC's "Today" show, the country singer said he enjoys needling his fellow judge, Maroon 5 lead singer, Adam Levine.

"[It] makes me happy," Shelton said. "I live to make him feel bad about himself."

When asked about the two's onscreen tension, the singer jokingly compared it to fire.

"I would say where there's smoke, there's fire," Shelton said. "We're very attracted to each other. I'm already married, so it's never going to work out."

Both Levine and Shelton are the only two judges who have participated in the show all five seasons. Singer Christina Aguilera and artist Cee-Lo Green have been involved for four seasons; singers Usher and Shakira replaced the returning judges for season four.

Shelton also addressed those who may be ready for another judge's contestant to triumph.

"[My winning streak] may be boring to you, but it's very exciting to me," he said. "That's my competition. I don't care if they like it or not."

The "Honey Bee" singer helped lead Jermaine Paul to victory in season two. Season three helped fan favorite Cassadee Pope, who gained success with the band "Hey Monday" last season.

One-time winner Levine has been going to great lengths to ensure his own team's victory.

"I had a hard time getting people to come with me this year on my team, and Adam had some good points," Shelton said. "He threw out some stuff about the NBA and how nobody's ever won four of anything in a row. I can't remember what these stats were, but he actually got in some people's heads and stole some people."

Shelton has a secret weapon in the form of Cher, who will be assisting him this season.

"I'll tell you what, I love her," he said. "She doesn't take herself that seriously, but she doesn't take any crap off of anybody either. She actually reminds me of my wife a lot, I mean, as far as she's a very strong woman."

Today Entertainment writer Craig Berman jokingly called "The Voice" "The Blake Shelton Show" but said he doesn't think the show will suffer if Shelton triumphs again.

"Dynasties can be dull," he wrote. "If fans already know who's going to win a competition before it begins, there isn't much reason to watch. That would be a problem if 'The Voice' was all about who wins... It's not about the singers - it's about the coaches, four successful singers who look like they're having fun out there and encourage everyone watching to have fun right along with them."
