George Miller Confirms Charlize Theron's Imperator Furiosa Will Not Be In The 'Mad Max' Sequels And Other Disappointing Details [SPOILERS]

The stunning sequel that is 'Mad Max: Fury Road' may be about the adventures of Max Rockatansky, but only one character towered over the movie and that is none other than Imperator Furiosa. Charlize Theron's one-armed driver of the War Rig proved to be a formidable match to Tom Hardy's Max, who could only follow her around as she tried to save the Five Wives and bring them to the Green Place.

Furiosa was such a strong female protagonist that fans immediately expected her to appear in the future 'Mad Max' films that director George Miller will be working on. However, in an interview with Digital Spy, the 'Mad Max' creator delivered disappointing news to the Imperator's fans.

"I'm not sure, is the answer," Miller said, but he also added that it won't be the last time Max will be seeing Furiosa.

"She's not in the Mad Max [sequel] story, but in one of the stories there's an interaction between [Max and Furiosa]. I can't really say more than that because it's still in progress," Miller said.

But for a bit of trivia, George Miller also revealed how Furiosa lost her arm. Well, sort of.

"Oh, that's a long story," he said, "but it was in a battle and she had no choice."

So looking on the bright side of things, Charlize Theron might still have to shave her head again, but only for a smaller appearance in 'Mad Max: The Wasteland.' But wait, is that the final title?

"That name came out, that was just a working title," Miller explained. "[Co-screenwriter] Nico Lathouris and I wrote deep backstories on all the characters and they eventually became screenplays - so we have two [more movies]."

Two more 'Mad Max' films sound like a great project to work on immediately. Or is it?

"I'm happy to say that there's discussions about them right now, but I hope the next film I make is a very small without any special effects and not many stunts," Miller admitted.

It may take a little longer for the new 'Max Max' sequels to get developed, but fans can still always hope Furiosa will be there, even for just a few minutes.
