Amy Poehler and Tina Fey stole the spotlight from Neil Patrick Harris' opening number at the 65th annual Television of Arts and Science Emmy Awards on Sunday.

Sitting in the front row, the former Golden Globes hosts donned 3-D glasses and munched on popcorn as they heckled Harris.

"We've got some advice for you," Fey said. "Take you pants off!"

"Twerk it! Work that twerk," Poehler added.

Despite serving as host of the Emmys, as well as, four Tony Awards ceremonies, Harris was subjected to playful banter from the two actresses.

"I thought an awards show involved twerking," Fey said, referring to Miley Cyrus' MTV Video Music Awards performance with Robin Thicke.

When Harris asked why they were wearing glasses, Fey said, "So we can see your business up close! America needs to know what you're working with!"

"It might be degrading, but we would be de grateful!"

Emmys previous hosts Jimmy Kimmel, Conan O'Brien and Jimmy Fallon joined Harris onstage. O'Brien referred to other Emmys hosts as "a bunch of amateurs" who just take "selfies with the guys from Duck Dynasty."

Fey confirmed to Ryan Seacrest on the red carpet that she's been asked back to co-host next year's Golden Globe awards with Poehler.

"Have you asked Amy yet, because we literally said we're going to talk about it tonight because we haven't seen each other," Fey said.

"The 30 Rock" star said she and Poehler have been on opposite coasts working on projects non-stop and have not been able to properly catch up to discuss the gig.

"NBC has invited us," Fey said. "We're going to talk about it tonight!"

Rumors first began circulating that the "Saturday Night Live" alums had been asked back to host back in August.

According to Deadline, that although Poehler and Fey agreed to only a one-time hosting gig, producers are hoping for a repeat of the performance that brought in almost 20 million viewers.

The ratings were a 17 percent increase from the year before, when Ricky Gervais hosted.
